It's coming to the end of the year and ... Xmas = Shopping!! haha

But so sad, I'm now broke.... why??? Cuz I bought two bags in the last one week... I'm pretty sure tat I have a bag fetish...

Oh well... at least it's a healthy kind of fetish, no one gets hurt and me gets happy rite?


a few days ago, I was talking to my sweetie and he sms and mentioned tat he juz sees some minor differences in us... so I asked him to tell me wat are the minor differences that he sees in us... and this is wat he wrote

okie, today I shall do something bo liao....

I was counting how many bags I had last time and I think I have abt 30+ bags....now I threw some older ones and those tat I know I will never use them anymore and so I shall do another bag count again...

So these are my two new addition

My most expensive bag!! Xmas present from sweetie, and I got him the same bag but it's in black grey...nice hor.... and it's good for ppl like me alot of barangs cuz got back support and my bag feels lighter!!! Yeah!!!


This is the esprit bag that I've been eye-ing for SO long!!! I did my bag count last time cuz I was eye-ing this bag, everyone told me tat I have too many bags le... did a count, yah, abit too much....so had to stop myself from buying. Esprits bag have seasons I think, so after a while they will stop selling... Then yesterday I was at JP with sweetie, I went to esprit to look at the bag again, was quite sure tat it is gone liao but they still have it!!! and wat's more.... it's on 30% DISCOUNT!!! wah!! and Sweetie tell me since my grades improved, I can get it as a treat to myself!! so happy!!

I got a treat from sweetie too!! Swensen Bake rice and Banana Crumble!! Yum Yum!!

I did quite badly in uni for the last 3 years, all Cats and Dogs... better sems, more Cats less Dogs, bad sems, I get more Dogs and Less Cats...I'm juz scraping thru... this sem I got mostly Baboos, one Cat and no Dog!! Even got my First ANT!! Yeah!!! Not fantastic results but it shows that going to sch everyday and go tutorials even if I didnt do does help (I think I only did all the tutorial one and the rest all copy ans during tut, tsk tsk tsk, at least got copy hor)... I did skip some lectures and tutorials sometimes but not alot...

I'm sure I can graduate in time loh!!!! One more sem to go!! Then I'll be in the working world!! aiyo...actually I also dunno wat I want to work as... but engineering is actually quite a safe course to study, I heard of ppl doing eng then go banking, be teacher also can, yah...so I guess I'll try out different stuff? I mean still QUITE young, must try different things rite?

Today I shall not go down to NUS, will stay home to do stuff ba...

I still have to drag myself to NUS for FYP, I think if it's NTU i wont feel so bad, at least I can do my fyp and have good food rite? or meet up friend after tat...
BUt I think I might be able to do my fyp in NTU when sch starts cuz the PHD student I'm working with is going to work at techno plaza for some stuff...heehee.... YEAH!!

I always does tat...I cut my toes nails on one foot then very tired and then take a break and forgot abt it... always took me a while to realise I only cut one foot but not the other...haha

Haha... Haizz, I still feel tat I'm not making much progress. Did a 9-hour experiment a few days back... actually it is not as siong as it sound cuz it's mostly waiting time...

Put on a layer of Thiol (smelly stuff) and wait for 3 hours, then clean it then put another layer of Silica and sensitive layer and wait for another 3 hours and then heat it for 2 hours with the last half an hour of close monitoring loh...

Research work is really boring...not something I see myself doing at all...it's super boring and sometimes when you put in so much time and effort you might not get any results loh... I HATE THAT

And the worst thing is when you are so careful with your experiment then someone can come and mess it up for you...though not intentionally you still feel pissed loh...

I was talking to the PHD student I was working with... he asked how I find the project so far... I say it's very frustrating and I dun like research work... and then he made a comment "So you like to do things that you dun have to use your brain"..... what???? Hello? Only research work need to use brain meh? That's not quite a sentence a person who use brain will say??? haha, okie, I dun dislike him but sometimes I juz feel tat we're totally different ppl la...

Make me sound like some bimbo.... (but at least bimbo is pretty rite? haha)
Even if I'm a bimbo, I'm a Brainy Bimbo loh....dear dear say it's an oxymoron, ya, a moron that uses oxy (pimple cream la)....

So if you dun like research work means you dun like to use brain??? I think many people will beg to differ loh...haizz

I hate fyp but I have to do it... I have to graduate!!! To go do soemthing tat I totally have no idea on and have absolutely NO INTEREST in is probably a lesson in itself... I will come out a better WOMAN...

NTU Lifeguard Makan Trip....

Wah, this morning wake up body aching all over...

Yesterday was out the whole day loh... morning biathlon training at 8am but I reached there at almost 9am cuz the biathlon training always start very late... and there was only 5 of us...

We did warm up and drills then do a ladder down swim 400m, 300m, 200m then 100m with 30 sec rest in between.... I think I died after the swim

But we still have the runs.... one round track warm up then drills then 3 sets of 5x400m run at 5km pace.... this is very siong for me cuz I havent been running regularly and I'm not very fit at the moment...so as usual la, I juz give myself a 50% discount.... did only one and a half set ---> 7 rounds!!! haha

After training, went lunch with dear then go library to try to do abit of reading for my FYP report...then met up with dearie after he knock off

Then it's the NTU lifeguard makan trip!!!

We reached SRC pool at 6:50pm.... suppose to meet at 7pm there but there's only dear dear, me and Linus....

At 7:05pm....

We waited till abt 7.30pm then most of the people who are meeting in NTU finally turned up... we head to our bus and

I was addicted to manga and animations... I still like them now too...juz tat I dun spend on them now, no more buying comics...but I still have quite a stack at home collecting dust in the store room....sigh

It's probably the reason why I used to love to draw last time... I'll always vandalise all my textbooks... even my friends' and I dun use pencil to draw, I use PEN in their textbooks but I used pencil in mine!!! hahaha.... I remember this classmate from primary sch in particular, Junyi... He's a very cute, fair and plump little boy who sits beside me... I think his parents pampers him alot, he always have the most pens in his pencil case... CDs, Discman, Lots of snacks, always has new RL Stine books... I think I'm quite a nasty little gal, who keep drawing in his textbook during lesson...haha but he's nice, he cant do anything to me also and he always buys my fav snack to share with me... heeehhee... I guess he figured tat since he's stuck sitting next to me, treating me nice will make his life a more pleasant one??? haha, wah, I sound like a mafia now...

Anyway, I used to dream abt being a comic artist.... but my drawings are not up to standard....sigh...and I dun think I have the patience to do that...

Hmmm, after that I went to sec sch and we all had to take art lessons and were introduced still life drawing and I quite like it too...but it was quite shitty sometimes cuz it was so obvious tat our art teacher practises the FINE art of FAVOURITISM.... okie, I wasnt really the victim but I juz felt that she was really unfair when she give marks.... she's still quite nice to me probably cuz she's my cousin's friend in nie (cousin's 13 years older than moi)

Why do I say she's unfair when giving marks?? okie, I have this classmate M, she's a very cheery ger and she really know how to make small talks with everyone and has a really sweet tongue...so our Art teacher Mrs C likes her alot. Dun misunstand me ok? M is a rather good friend of mine... M isnt really very good at drawing but she always gets pretty decent marks from Mrs C, in fact, Mrs C will help her "edit" M's work and then give marks in front of every student... she doesnt do that for any other students... I have this other friend wn... she's rather quiet but is pretty good with drawing but she get penalised for little stuff like drawing too small etc...diao...and wn and m will end up having the abt the same marks....tat's so unfair loh...

wasnt too impressed with that art teacher... I stopped putting in much effort for my art homework, juz enough to get by. wat's the use to put in soo much effort in your work when someone who can get as much as you do juz because she know how to talk?

Come to think abt it now, i wonder what will it be like if I were to raise this issue straight to the teacher when she's "editing" M's work??? BLEAH....

It seems tat I'm rather unhappy with alot of my old sch teachers???

haha...well, they dun like me tat much, I also DUN like them tat much?? not exactly la...juz tat I wasnt the 100% good student.... got 70% ba....still got some teachers quite like me also one leh... like my P6 chinese teacher? heehee

okie, so I'm done with my primary sch PE teacher (the badminton incident) and my Sec sch art teacher... many more to come???

hahaha....okie I'm so bad...I know our teachers give their life in educating the next generation... we should give them more respect....

Met Daphne during marathon and I really miss her so much! So I shall blog about...

My Hall 7 Roomie Daphne!!!

Right... of course I shall start with her.

Okie, in my year one, I got to know Daphne through biathlon. Guess she's the only other new ger in the team and I sorta keep chatting with her... she's nice... and very tall

Somehow we became quite close friends and then when her roomie is moving out of hall, we became roomies. she remind me alot of mable, a very dear friend of mine too. Daphne is always very encouraging and has her own opinions on things and is not afraid to voice them out. It's her honesty and sincerity that drew me to her...and of course her crappiness!!

She's always the one who's so excited about trainings... while I always have to drag myself to training but it's always nice to train with daphne. Back in my year one and year two days, she'll always drag me go for all kind of races, NUS biathlon, X campus Run, Surf and Sweat, Vertical Marathon, NIE biathlon etc etc... I always enjoyed those with her...

First NUS Biathlon 2003...







Daphne took part in two races, one individual event and one team relay with ricky. See her two number tags??? L22 and T17? She's bian tai!! haha... I only took part in the relay with Jonathon as the swimmer (ricky's friend)...ps/ now I can get my bf to swim for me and I run??.... at that time I still wasnt sure of my swimming skill and had never swim in the sea before so scare loh....so only took part in relay.

Then one year later at NUS Biathlon 2004

heehee, this year I finally can take up one biathlon by myself le...wont drown in sea... cuz I joined Lifeguard too...but havent take course yet but since I made some lifeguard friends, should have priority rite??...heehee...


Charity Swim Training @ NUS
There's this charity swim a few years back. The swimmers are to raise money and swim 10km from bedok jetty to esplanade. Daphne pulled me along and I went but I didnt manage to raise enough money to swim... bleah, I'm not a good fund raiser ~_~ ... but I did tagged along a few times to the swimming trainings at NUS and East Coast (Eww, East Coast is DEFINITELY not a nice place to swim...Sentosa is Tons better!) Guess it was an eye opener for Daphne ba, it's not easy to swim 10km especially for Daphne who juz picked up swimming (me too!! both of us are more land animals...)


NIE Biathlon 2003
This is my first NIE Biathlon... Think Ruoying was first in NTU Closed then Me then Daphne. Heehee... We're all Winners!!! Yeah!!
Anyway, Daphne got to know Liow and Dr Wong through the Charity Swim. Dr Wong is a very strong swimmer and it didnt stopped him to try doing the full biathlon (running and swimming) with partial vision. Liow's like a big teddy bear!! heehee, and very sweet too! Daphne told me that he proposed to his gf (wife now) after finishing his Ironman!!

Then we became roomies and played IHG (inter-hall games) together

Though I only stayed in hall for one semester but it was quite fun staying with daphne. She was the one who taught me how to use the washing machine =P .... we sleep like pigs, waking up late for our IBG road relays... the late night runs tat I was "conned" to run with daphne, suppose to be 6km, and then turned out to be 12km... morning swims when both of us overslept...

Daphne got her unique way of getting rid of insects in our room and cats.... Cat's not allowed in the room when daphne is in, but sometimes I will bring cat in when she's not around...heehee

Was very sad when she told me that he is leaving NTU but I think she's much happier studying a course the she is interested in... It was really great meeting her again during this year's marathon...
oh, forgot to mentioned tat she was the culprit that got me in my first marathon... we were both staying in hall at that time... then she will msn me the breakdown timing of a marathon etc... keep telling me wat pace we do we can finish at wat time etc...then I signed up...and then somehow her application didnt get thru so I was to do it alone!! I was so scared...cuz I didnt train at all...in fact I havent been running at all... but she's nice, she went with me tat day and did half of the marathon with me... she decided to stop at half marathon cuz she's nursing an injury... this year she did hers and did very well finish in abt 5hrs! So Proud of her!! I shall run more consistently so I can keep up with her on the next marathon.

Singapore Marathon 2005

It's over!! At least I managed to crawl to the finishing line with my sweetie...heehee

Packed the night before...

Couldnt really sleep on saturday night... so end up in bed at abt 12 plus but couldnt fall asleep...

Then at 3am, got an sms from sweetie to ask me to wake up...wat?? 3am?

Our bus is at 430am near my place... so I thought I'll wake up at 4am 15mins to get ready....anyway, I got out of bed at abt 330am....didnt think slept much but I wasnt feeling sleepy too... too excited liao? maybe

Ate a few slices of sara lee and had milo!! Showered, bombed, changed and I'm out!!

Met sweetie along the way to the bus, sweetie took a cab down to my area... Later he told me the cab cost $20+!!!! I was furious!!! How can it be so ex? I know tat from my place to ntu is abt $7 and abt $10 with midnight charge... even with booking fees (sweetie didnt call the cab line to get the cab, it was someone's someone's contact) it shouldnt be so ex ma.... Mercedes Cab got so ex one meh???? I'm going to ask my dad about it...

Anyway, we reached padang at about 5 like that... Daphne havent reach so sweetie and I waited at one of the tents for her and we met Jeffery there....

Okie, so it's time to get ready for The Run!! Had to check in my bag so no more pics le....

We met Sumiko at the Baggage tent...

Went for some warm up with daphne and sweetie.... personally I dun believe in doing warm up cuz I CANT BE BOTHERED...haha

It's always the case that before any run etc, daphne will always be stretching and doing her warm ups while I'll always be squatting beside her and stretching my facial muscles...talking...

This is like the classic pose when I run with daphne... Miss staying in hall with her and training with her...so sad that she's no longer in NTU...

Anyway, when the run started, Daphne broke away pretty early... sweetie stick together with me throughout the run...

We started in front of esplanade.... then ran to shenton way.... I always get very excited when jogging early in the morning with so many people... I feel so healthy...haha!

Hmmm, then we run to marina south and then there's a turn at the end of it...we saw the Kenya runners...they are so fast! and so skinny! heehee... I really dun understand how a human can run 42km in that kinda pace.....

Saw a couple of friends.... after we got out of marina south, we ran back to padang area then head to national stadium and then to east coast park....

I think the east coast park is the worst route... think half way in, we hit the 21km mark... it's abt 30~32km when we finished with the east coast park area I think...

Sweetie and I walk for like 1km and jog 2km for quite a distance...aim is to finish the 42km... didnt train and I THINK I still want to be able to feel my legs so must not kill ourselves... too young to die liao...bleah...

I think the worst part for me is abt 35km onwards.... I start to get irritated, cuz it's really hot and I feel tat my knees are starting to give way...on our way from national stadium to esplanade, I start to have stitches and my knees hurt quite badly...but heng I got sweetie with me... he held my hand and we walked...

When we are abt to reach esplanade and less than 2km to go, we start to jog again...all the way to padang and the finishing line. Suddenly my legs seem to wake up liao...and I saw daphne near to the 100m mark area cheering...

so sweetie and me start to go faster...wah, finishing liao leh.... then at like 25m to the finishing line, I poke my sweetie.... he buay zi dong, must hold hands finish together ma...

We finished in 6hrs 6mins plus if I remember correctly.... it was abt 10mins slower than my first marathon but I'm still very happy... I did it with my Sweetie!!!

I dunno if he regret agreeing to join this run with me... we both agree that marathon is really no joke esp if you dun run long dist regularly... yeah... but I dun care la.... sign up liao pay liao MUST finish.... anyway, the finisher tee is SOO Nice!! It's the black version of our blue adidas running top with some extra prints loh but the MOST IMPORTANT thing is it FITS ME!!! My first marathon tee is way too big for me...sob sob

But I was alittle sad that this year they didnt give out the medals right after I run and someone will come and take pic for us... we had to exchange our timing chips for our medals and our tee...sigh...so no pic of us wearing medals...sigh...

Anyway, after we got our medal and finisher tee, we went to collect our bags. Saw a couple of friends there too... it's nice to see so many friends there... all stretching and mingling around...

After 42km, I cant wait to get out of my running shoes... so after we got our bags, we sat at the grass patch to change...

and since my camera is back, I shall take some pics...

Went to sports expo yesterday..kinda disappointing, there's nothing much to see... bleah... I'm 5543!!! and the funny thing is Daphne is 5544!! We didnt even registered together loh...heehee....erm...I was referring to our number tag for the marathon....

Almost couldnt recognise daphne yesterday, her hair's so short... thought it was a waste cuz her hair's so nice! But new look la... so we waited for her friend cheryl to come and then we went to collect our entry pack for sunday...

Daphne had to rush off so I walked around suntec while waiting for my sweetie to arrive...

I'm 22 for goodness sake!!! ..... still very funny.....stop laughing!!!! (pardon me for tat, internal conflict...it's hard when you dun bahave your age)

I still havent make any trip to nus to do my FYP, think I'll go down next week ba... I have no idea how I'm going to do it but I'll start with some reading I guess...I also dunno wat I should be reading...

hmph....Started biathlon training this week....

sometimes I wonder why I even bother to go train... I realise I'm not exactly those kind of ppl who loves to train... I'm a slacker... ask my JC coach you'll know...heehee

Had biathlon training yesterday 8AM!!! I woke up at 6AM can....wah, who wake up so early for hols one....not even for morning 830am lecture loh!
Not much people turned up, only 4 guys and 1 ger....(I'm the ger there btw, juz in case...) we started off doing some circuit exercise, then suddenly I feel as if I'm in army training with all these guys...man....why am I NOT in a dress shopping in an air conditioned mall or getting a facial and manicure done?

I think I'm swimming slower and slower...arghh.... and I have my tanlines from juz one session yesterday!! Then the RUN...I didnt feel like running at all... I havent been running consistently, I seriously doubt if I can even walk my marathon on sunday, but then I have daphne and sweetie to pei me so I guess it wont be so bad. My last marathon, dahpne ran the first 21km with me then she had to stop cuz of her injury, so I had to do the other 21km myself, really very sian... it wont be this way this year!!! Sweetie and me bought matching running top too! If only someone can help me take pic at the finishing line...want to have a nice pic of me, my sweetie and daphne crossing the finishing line tog ma....sob sob but those marathon event photographers charge like $12 for a photo taken loh.... I'm not rich plus I dun even know if they have a nice good shot....

Never mind...

Today I'm going down to the sports expo to collect the racer pack for sunday... meeting daphne first then wait for my sweetie to come after his work...

THen I'll have to go down to boon lay to go for BBQ at hall 7, they are BBQ-ing Dinesh! no la...it's a BBQ and Dinesh threatened me to go down or else he'll shave off his chest hair....wahaha, okie I'm super bo liao... but I hope he read this!

He was complaining to me that he is healthy but unfit.... so he is unfit-ly healthy but I think I'm fit-ly unhealthy.... which one is worst?

Was suppose to train in the evening yesterday but realise my body is aching to much so I didnt swim again in the evening...We had a joke sharing session...
