Okie, this is the first lifesaving competition organised by NUS Lifeguards that kick start the season for the lifeguards....
Quite some of us in the team are newbies... taking part in lifesaving competition for the first time... it was an eye opener for many of us. It was my second time competing but last year I only did a 4x25m manikin tow relay.... the manikin is SOOO heavy!! I'm lucky not to be drowned by it!!
Anyway, a picture speaks a thousand words... here's some pics from NUS invitational...
See our red-cross tee??? We look more like red cross than lifeguards??? heehee, wei, I brought them back all the way from Bangkok ok?? Think it cost abt $3 plus for each tee... save $$$ but tat havent include my air ticket and my accomodation at bangkok hor...
After the NUS invitational, we started training for our Lifesaving National Open waters competition at Sentosa... Wat's open waters??? It means open water loh... haha, it's at the beach la... (we're the beach babes and beach hunks...)
This is my first Open water competition too... and I'm going to do BEACH FLAG!!! Seriously, after I know wat beach flag is, I will never dream of doing it.... I feel I'm so not meant to be doing such events.... but I did it....and I did pretty okie I feel...*beaming proudly*
The seniors were kinda disappointed tat we are having our open waters at sentosa... cuz from wat I heard, it was NTU lifeguard's tradition to have BBQ and open water competition together at Changi Beach. So they will set up a BBQ pit and start BBQ-ing away while competing! How cool is that? haha....
Shereen (one of the seniors and our champion lifesaver) shared with us tat NTU lifeguard is made up of 5Cs....
Committee...
Course...

Crappiness and Corniess
So sad, I'm out of committee le...but I guess when it's time to go, you have to go loh... we need more NEW BLOOD anyway....
So after the Open waters, we have the National Still Waters.... It's held at Kallang Basin Swimming Complex.... so wulu....mafan to go loh...haha
Didnt take much pic so I'll juz post one group photo...
Right... that's all the races in Singapore we had this year...We went penang for the DHL Lifesaving Challenge in Sept... I shall write about it next time then...
Time to study for my LAST paper!
