never thought I will suffer a fracture but apparently it can happen to anyone anytime. Cut the long short, I fell off my new NTUC $108 bicycle and landed on my elbow.
I saw my elbow joint came out and my first thought was that my arm is gone for good. I don't know if it was because I was shocked or that I couldn't move, I just lay there on the grass that I landed. It was an awful experience. I'm grateful for the people that came to help me.
So right now I'm nursing a coronoid fracture on my right elbow. Based on the consultation, the doctor say its not a serious case and that I should recover fully and that my arm would eventually be able to straighten. *phew*
I had a splint cast for a week and it was horrible. Although it was a really long week but my friends and family made it easier for me. They came to visit me, ask me how I am, encouraged me. And of course there is Ah Seng, the husband I could count on and lean on when I needed to.
So now after the cast, all the bruises and swelling, my elbow is working on making a full recovery. yes my arm feels weird and I have limited range of motion, I know I will get back to my old self soon, running, swimming and doing all sorts of torturous exercises at home to lose all the weight and get my amazing abs.
I just want to write this down to remind myself never to take healthy body for granted and to be grateful for the awesome people around me.
