My 1/2 done scrapbook & 1/4 done entry

Havent been blogging much....
I'm one of those ppl who gets alot of ideas but because I use too much energy letting my mind wander (Hey, it's hard work okie.. >=|) and end up not putting in any of those ideas into action..

I belong to the do-half-sian-half species in the homosapien family.

I've actually wrote an entry for my Taiwan trip earlier this year (okie 1/4 only actually) but never publish it. It's really hard work to blog and I tend to give up when I get bored of it. So I left this particular entry untouch for like almost 6 months without continuing and abt a month earlier I decided to do virtual scrapebooking for my Taiwan trip (which was also 1/2 in my opinion).

Here's my scrapbook:

Here's my 6 month-old unfinished entry:

Initially I was just planning to go for a short trip to KL or somewhere nearby on a First Class coach during March BUT.... I couldnt get the couple seat I wanted even though I was checking the website everyday for them to release the bookings for March -_-"

So instead, my bf and I decided to go for a trip to Taiwan. I've actually wanted to go there last year but thought it's not really my budget yet. Once we've decided on the dates to go, I went to book our flights with Jetstar and bf went to look for hotels in Taipei. Armed with our flight and hotel bookings for the first two and last two days in Taipei, we're all set for our trip to Taiwan!!

We did not plan much (I never go for trips tat I didnt book all the accomodations beforehand but bf say he always go for holidays like this) but we did have a rough itinerary of where we want to visit.

Overview of our itinerary

It's a 9day-8night trip, so we planned to stay two days at 台北, two days at 花莲, two days at 墾丁and then back to 台北 for the last two days for me to SHOP!

Bf asked me to pack light since we are going to move around Taiwan. I swear I've packed the lightest I ever could but still my 30litre pack is filled up to the brim (okie okie... I've brought games I never play and books I never read plus one free rider, Ah siao, for the trip). Anyway, I met him at Jurong East MRT to take train down to Changi Airport together lor. Wah, his bag is like so empty one lor (but give me the credit, I brought all our toiletries cuz I dun trust a guy to pack for such things >=| hehehe), so he took some load off from my bag on our way to the airport.

The flight to Taiwan is 4 hours but it feels like eternity to me -_-" (even a two-hour flight to bangkok bores me to tears). We reached Taiwan at around 6plus and took a cab to our Hotel - 儷萊大飯店. The cab we took was really good, there's TV inside, car is new, it's fast and quiet, the cabby is wearing a suit too! Good things don't come cheap, the cab fare was 1200NT (around $55) which is not cheap considering it is a 30plus 40min ride.

Our hotel for first two days at Taipei

It was around 8plus when we got out of the hotel and went hunting for dinner. The famous ximending was within walking distance and while my bf was looking for a non-crowded place to have our meals, I was very distracted by all the shops there. Anyway, we found a small hawker-center-like place to have our meals. It was not bad and the price of the food is similar to Singapore.

Had a good time checking out the place but I think I need a map to navigate myself around the area. The first night in Taiwan, I found THE ONE snack that I love --- Honey Coated Strawberry...it's even better than the usual sugar coated strawberry I eat at home! It's interesting to see chinese words everywhere (my bf likes it that way I think)...They also have lotsa interesting names for their shop!! I saw one salon call 乱剪 (translate to singlish should be anyhow cut) and there's many more la. We walked till most of the shops close before heading back to the hotel.

I'm suppose to save all my shopping till the last 2 days but I bought this on my first night in Taiwan (hehehe....)

Re-Ment Miniature

My first Re-Ment Miniature set!!

I saw these miniatures online but couldnt find it in any Singapore Toy shops. This is quite an old edition so I guess it's hard to find so I MUST get it!! hahaha, I love that pig rice cooker (sadly it was not in the set I bought, I got the "secret" set instead =< , I will continue to look for this pig set!!) This set was 800NT which is around $37 and it's cheap as compared to those sold in singapore where one set typically cost around $50 to $55 for a set of 10. I've been waiting to go taiwan to buy the miniatures (I almost cave in a few times to buy these in Singapore before my trip!!)

So the itinerary for the next day is to visit 淡水 in the day and then go 士林夜市at night. We went to Danshui by their MRT, this is the first time we are travelling on Taipei Metro (台北捷运).

Goes to everywhere I need to go in Taipei I think...

Not everyone uses a card for this Metro, those one way trip uses some plastic coins. When you enter, you place the coin near the sensor just like how you would with EZ-link card but when you are exiting, you drop the coin in the coin slot. Save us the hassle of going to the GTM (General Ticketing Machine) in Singapore to get our refund back. Something for SMRT to think about? *bleah*
My ticket to 淡水

Take a closer look

As you can see from the MRT map above, 淡水 is all the way at the end of the red line. It's a pretty crowded place and the weather is nice, around 16 to 18 degrees.

Lots of makan there and I found another Heavenly Invention "salted mushroom". So we just walk and buy snacks lor.

A Friend is One of the Best Things in Life

"A Friend is One of the Best Things in Life"

Though we don't see each other very much
nor do we write to each other very much
nor do we phone each other very much

I always know that, at any time
I could call, write or see you
and everything would be exactly the same

You would understand everything I am saying
and everything I am thinking

Our friendship does not depend on being together
It is deeper than that

Our closeness is something inside of us
that is always there
Ready to be shared with each other
Whenever the needs arises

It is such a comfortable and warm feeling
To know that we have such a lifetime friendship

~Suasan Polis Schutz~

Thought of you when I read this, thought that this really reflect our friendship. During the last month, a couple of times, when I'm feeling hurt, I wish I could tell you all about it. There's also happy things that I wish I could share with you.

Life seems to be the same but yet it's so different...

I miss you, my friend

The famous dog & the not-so-famous singapore cats

Went for the Hush Puppies Apparel sale on sunday with my brother. I think it's not bad, lots of polo tees, tees, undies, boxers from hush puppies and there's some Levis apparels too. Oh, there's also bedsheets and curtains.

My brother bought a berms for $22 and a curtain for $14.

I got 2 boxes of hush puppies panties (5 in a box) at $12/box, 1 checkered hush puppies female boxer $10, 1 pair of Levis white shorts $15 and 1 blue hush puppies polo tee for my ah seng $15.

*tsk tsk tsk* Keep spending sia.... cannot continue like this lor...

Anyway, all in all I think this sale is worth checking out ba, just in case you want to go, here the details...

Ah Seng bought me a cat pictorial book!

I had wanted this book for a long time when I first heard about it. But somehow I just didnt get to buying it... somehow... I cant remember why

So I think I mentioned to ah seng before and somehow (also) he went to buy this book for me. The book is published to help raise fund for the Cat Welfare Society. Inside there's photos of cats in the streets. Yes, they may not look as pretty or glam like the expensive cats but they are also unique in their own ways.

Quite a while back, I actually had wanted to go around taking photos of cats I see and compile into an album or what. But as always, I start with a thought and ends with it as well -_-"

Anyway, if anyone should decide to have a cat, pls pls go and adopt one instead of buying one. You can adopt either from SPCA or Cat Welfare Society.

Squish a Boob, Save a Life

Went for the Reebok Pink Ribbon Walk, organized by Breast Cancer Foundation and Reebok today. Supposed to meet Michell and Vanessa they all 4.30pm at Timbre @ Art House but my boi boi overslept.

But I was able to make it there at 5pm lor... felt so bad that my boi boi rush all the way down to send me there *big hugz for my sweet ah seng*

Took me quite a while to find the rest because it was like soo crowded la. And I accidently stepped into a group photo (with a very shocked expression) when the photographer was snapping. Everyone looked me... -_-" (so paiseh that I wish I can be invisible like this character from Heroes lor)

Anyway, it was quite a humid day or maybe it was just the crowd, started perspiring after walking for a while. There were quite some gentlemen talking part in the walk too... I thought it was really nice that they didnt mind walking around in a pink shirt.

My first walk event!!

I thought it really not bad to walk for a good cause and you get to catch up with your friends at the same time.

Vanessa and me!! someone very act cool hor...

So we were just chit chatting and snapping photos while walking and I saw something quite interesting...

Ooooh, sexy red lips

So when we finished the walk, there was a dance item led by

Billy Wang aka 东方比利

I've seen pictures of him before but I dun think I will describe him as handsome ba. But in person hor, he's tall and quite well-built and yes quite handsome too!!!

These are two of my fav "风景" pictures I took today...

Riverside Point

My fav picture for today

Oh ya, we also got free Swensen's ice cream after the walk!!

Ice Cream time!!

There was suppose to be pink lights shone on the building there for this event but we were all starving... so didnt get it but I manage to "steal" a picture of it *hiak hiak*

Photo taken from Here
without permission =P

So after everything, we walked to Funan to meet Vanessa's bf, Jeeve. We had dinner at Sushi Don!!! I walked past that place a couple of times but never went in -_-"

We Ordered quite alot of food... and I had Kimchi Ramen!!! not too bad

Totally no link but my dinner + Vanessa Hogging my PSP

Hossan, LIVE!

Chance upon this poster for Hossan, LIVE! at my workplace.

Synopsis: You’ve heard of Billy Joel, Elton John and Barry Manilow? Well, brace yourself for Singapore’s very own! He can tinkle those little notes on that ebony and ivory, and tease any audience into submission. From pop to jazz to broadway to classical, Hossan Leong oozes musical talent like no other! Join Hossan as he tickles your funny bone with his wit and humour, making this a night to remember!

The last show I went was the one by Kumar the queen and I though it's not too bad. And he is very funny but SOOOO skinny and hiao le!!! hahahaha

I thought I should go watch this too since it's at RP. The show is on 14 Nov and the tickets are $20/$30 so rather affordable ba. Shall jio my friends to watch!!!
Just in case anyone is interested or want to join in ah...details can be found here.

Heroes Rock!!

Holiday!!! Woke up late and spent my day doing one thing... and one thing only

Was in front of my computer for a day to watch this!!!

I started watching Heroes on Monday and I love it!! But too bad I didnt have the complete season 1 so now I have to watch online *bleah*

I think the plot is rather dark... like sometimes they show you the darker side of the seemingly good ppl. Not to mention it's also quite bloody... oh well... I do enjoy it and it's addictive!!! It's I have to continue watching one episode after another.

Gosh I HATE it when a episode ends and I have more 'questions' than 'answers'

I must have the discipline to go sleep and go work tmr. It's going to be quite a long day at work tmr though...*sigh*

Holiday's over...sux to be an adult isnt it?

Ditto
